What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aquatics Lifeguard position at Gilroy Gardens?
We are now hiring for Aquatics Lifeguards at Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park! Responsible for the safety of the guests in our Water Oasis area. Works closely with aquatics management to ensure all duties are being performed in a safe and responsible manner. Training and CPR certification is provided; this is an entry level position! Must be at least 18 years of age to apply!
Shift & Hours:
- Weekends Only (now - June 5th): 10am-6pm
- Summer Operation (June 6th - August 10th) : Monday - Friday 11am - 5pm & Weekends 10am - 6pm.
Shift Duties:
- Communicates safety regulations with guests.
- Recognizes injuries and provides necessary treatment.
- Monitors and enforces water park and lifeguard rules.
- Must be organized and alert when making decisions in the event of an emergency.
- Tests and operates equipment, such as waterslides.
- Other duties may be assigned. Develop resume-building skills to help achieve your career goals.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to successfully complete 14-16 hours of training.
- Must be able to swim a distance of 50 meters as part of the pre-requisites.
- Must be able to swim to a depth of 13 feet and obtain a 10lb diving brick as part of the pre-requisites.
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, criminal, DMV.

Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 per week

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends only
