Yard Duty/Noon Duty Aide
Typical Duties:
- Patrol school grounds, playgrounds, corridors, restrooms and adjacent areas for the purpose of enforcing district rules and regulations as they pertain to student conduct, safety and behavior.
- Monitor and supervise students in and around eating areas during brunch and/or lunch periods
- Prepare necessary follow-up paperwork for documentation and actions taken as designated by procedures
- Intercedes in and resolves student disagreements
- Escorts students to class or to proper administrative office as needed
Employment Standards:
- Knowledge of approved techniques and methods of youth supervision
- Ability to read and write at a level sufficient to perform required duties
- Ability to learn District rules and regulations pertaining to student behavior and conduct on campus
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions
- Ability to analyze situation accurately and adopt effective course of action
- Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgement in dealing with students
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.
Working Conditions and Abilities:
- Indoor/outdoor environment
- Ability to sustain hot/cold temperatures; comfortable working in varying weather conditions
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, twist, kneel and stoop.
- Physical dexterity, with ability to operate computer keyboard and other office machines.
- Physical agility to lift, carry, push, pull up to five pounds on a regular basis and up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to reach in all directions.
