About the Role
Gilson Inspection Services, a division of Gilson Housing Partners, provides trusted housing solutions nationwide. We work with Housing Authorities to ensure rental properties meet Public Housing Quality Standards (PHQS) and local housing codes.
We’re looking for a Part-Time Housing Inspector in Cincinnati, OH. This is a field-based position—perfect for someone with housing inspection or property management experience who enjoys working independently and helping communities stay safe and compliant.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct inspections (initial, annual, special, and re-inspections) on residential rental units, including Section 8 properties
- Verify compliance with PHQS, Section 8 program rules, and local codes
- Use our digital inspection software (training provided) to document findings
- Communicate with tenants, property owners, and housing staff in a professional manner
- Write clear reports and recommend repairs where needed
Requirements
- Experience in housing inspections, property management, or similar field (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and current insurance (required)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and mobile apps/tools
- Detail-oriented and able to follow housing regulations
- Able to pass a background check and mandatory drug test
- Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required
