Ginger Cove is currently seeking a Full-Time Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) (M-F; 8:00AM to 4:30PM; weekends as necessary for business needs or emergencies) to support our community. The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is responsible for providing direct clinical supervision to the resident care provided in the Health Center. Coordinates resident care and the systems for providing that care between the three shifts and the Apartment Support Program if indicated and serves as the administrative supervisor for the day shift. Facilitates effective communication between the Health Care staff and resident family members.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor all care to see that it is provided in compliance with all Ginger Cove, State and Federal regulations.

Coordinate resident care delivery system by nursing staff on all shifts through the use of:
- Admission assessment.
- Minimum Data Set (MDS).
- Resident Care Conferences.
- Quality Assurance Projects.
- Incident Reports, including Medication Errors.
- Medical Record Review.
- Monthly medication administration record verification.
- Infection control oversight.
- Skin assessment protocols.

Serve as administrative supervisor for the day shift, providing:
- Schedules.
- Three month and annual evaluation.
- Daily monitoring of individual and group care giving activities.
- Assistance with selection of the day shift staff.
- Orientation of new staff.
- Serve as liaison for discharge planning with the Apartment Support Program.
- Provide for communication with residents, families, and staff both directly and through individualized communication plans.

Serve as Medicare A reviewer, both directly and in conjunction with support staff:
- Assesses new admissions for level of care determination.
- Monitors status of skilled residents for changes that indicate a denial is appropriate.
- Assures adequate staff documentation to support Medicare A eligibility.
- Provides for completion of medical aspects of billing procedure i.e. MIF and confirmation of days/therapies covered.
- Provide 24-hour on-call coverage to Health Center Staff on a rotating basis with other supervisory staff.
- Provide for functions of the Director of Nursing in his/her absence.
- Provide for monthly in-service program for Health Center staff as required by State regulation.
- Participate in staff, departmental and resident meetings as indicated.
- Work cooperatively with other departments to provide and maintain the physical plant and resident services in the Health Center.
- Assist with payroll records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelors Degree preferred.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland.
- CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain prior to employment.
- At least three years experience in supervisory or managerial role required.
- Knowledge and experience working with senior communities.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, providing excellent service delivery to residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to organize, supervise, delegate and provide leadership.
- Computer literacy.
- Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified timeframe.
- Must present self in a professional manner, display genuine concern for elderly and be tactful in dealing with others.
