What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Preschool Teacher position at Gingerbread Cottage Preschool?
Gingerbread Cottage Preschool is looking for a part-time Preschool Teacher beginning Fall 2025. The student to teacher ratio is capped at 9:1. A Preschool Teacher must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods as well as the ability to engage students and earn their trust and attention.
Duties
Duties & Responsibilities:
~Ability to develop and carry out lesson plans
~Implement the GBC curriculum for preschool students
~Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational center play, etc.)
~Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
~Encourage children to interact with each other in positive and supportive ways
~Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, crafts, etc.)
~Supervise students to ensure they are safe at all times
~Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Skills:
~Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
~Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
~Excellent communication and instructional skills
~Professional, friendly and dependable
Requirements
Education/Experience:
~Experience as a Preschool or Elementary School Teacher
~ CPR certification (or willingness to acquire the certification)
Nice To Haves
Education/Experience:
~Associates or Bachelor's degree in early-childhood education or related field
~Experience as a Preschool teacher

Schedule:
~Base hours are 8:30 am to 12:30 pm (3-4 days per week, Tuesday through Friday - exact days to be determined).
~There is an opportunity for additional pay beyond the pay for normal school operating hours if the teacher participates in our early drop off program.
~Teachers are also paid for weekly planning time, staff meetings, and 16 hours of mandatory yearly professional development training.
~Will receive paid sick days after completing their first year as a teacher.
Salary : $13 - $15
