Position Summary

The Facilities Compliance & Production Quality Control Manager is responsible for the management of facilities maintenance and compliance as well as the quality assurance of production/construction. Facilities Management is responsible for overall utilization of plant resources to achieve strategic facilities maintenance and reliability objectives. This includes oversight of all physical aspects of the plant including service of electrical and mechanical systems; maintenance of production equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds; and compliance with applicable policies, regulations and protocols.

The Facilities Compliance & Production Quality Control Manager inspects a project before, during and after construction to ensure compliance with all safety and quality specifications. Quality Control Management works in concert with all the managers of the other departments, ensuring that the units are built and inspected to a specific code and quality tolerance. The Quality Control Manager assumes the responsibility of being sure all products meet or exceed the building codes as well as meeting the quality objectives of the Company. They are responsible to prevent any products from leaving the production line that do not meet the Companies' high-quality standards and objectives.

Primary Work Location: Romulus, Michigan with travel to field sites.

Education/Certification/Licensing/Experience Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Quality Management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: At least ten (10) years of similar work experience in a management capacity including experience that combines managerial, technical, and construction expertise, previous experience working with diverse populations preferred.
  • Certificates & Licenses: Forklift Operator Certificate. Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Certificate of personal auto liability insurance. OSHA 30. First Aid/CPR. USACE Construction Quality Control Management.
  • Other Requirements: Strong stakeholder service skills. Exceptional dedication to dependability and punctuality. Strong work ethic. Ability to engage a team toward a common mission. Additional abilities required:
    • Ability to operate all types of forklifts.
    • Ability to read/interpret blueprints and other construction drawings.
    • Ability to use maintenance function of property management software.
    • Maintenance and construction training classes, licenses, and certificates.
    • Strong computer literacy including but not limited to MS Office Suite, production management software, database software, and project management software.
Physical Demands And Work Environment

  • Posture: Primarily on one's feet moving throughout the production facility or job site throughout the day. Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time. May enter or frequent various worksites and workspaces which may vary in temperature (hot and cold), may be confined spaces, and may be loud. Ability to stoop, crouch, climb ladders, enter and move about confined spaces.
  • High stress: High stress environment due to publishing schedules, stakeholder complaints or incident response.
  • Discretion: Works independently and supervises the work of others.
  • Utilizes computers, phones, maintenance equipment and machinery, and standard office equipment.
  • Employee is required to perform job duties in accordance with existing health and safety procedures and policies.
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally to attend meetings, visit sites, conferences, etc. as required.
