Phase 2 Compost Logistics Coordinator

Giorgi Mushroom Co, (GMC1) is the largest single-location mushroom farm in the world, GMC produces over 180 million pounds annually of Agaricus bisporus varieties, including White Button, Portabella, Cremini, and Shiitake mushrooms. Our operations span 3.7 million square feet of growing space across six farms and 468 indoor growing rooms, including several organic-certified operations.
Position Overview:
The Phase 2 Compost Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the logistics and scheduling of compost deliveries to GMC farms. This role ensures timely and efficient truck dispatches, coordinates with farm operations, and utilizes Produce Pro software to track and manage deliveries. Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish, organizational abilities, and computer proficiency are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Truck Dispatch & Scheduling:
- Plan and coordinate daily truck shipments of Phase 2 compost to GMC farms.
- Ensure deliveries align with farm schedules and operational needs.
- Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in production and farm requirements.
- Communication & Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between truck drivers, farm managers, and compost production teams.
- Communicate delivery schedules, delays, and any issues that may arise.
- Work closely with supervisors to optimize transportation efficiency.
- Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish, as needed, with truck drivers and farm personnel.
- Software & Data Management:
- Use of Produce Pro software to track deliveries, update records, and ensure accurate documentation (training will be provided).
- Monitor and input delivery times, truck status, and compost quantities.
- Maintain an up-to-date database to support smooth logistics operations.
- Operational Oversight & Compliance:
- Ensure all dispatch operations comply with company safety standards and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve logistical challenges in a timely manner.
- Support continuous improvements in compost transportation efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Experience in logistics coordination, dispatching, or transportation management, preferably in an agricultural or manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) – required.
- Training will be provided in Produce Pro, but previous experience with logistics/ERP software is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Conversational Spanish skills required for effective communication with truck drivers and farm personnel.
- Basic knowledge of truck routing, scheduling, and farm operations is a plus.
Minimum Required Education:
- High School Diploma (or GED) or studies in an agriculture-related field preferred.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 52 per week
