As a Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Your expertise in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial software will be essential in delivering accurate and timely tax services.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Analyze financial documents to determine tax liabilities.
- Review clients’ financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
- Provide guidance on tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities.
- Utilize tax accounting software (Ultratax, Verifyle, Fujitsu Scanners) to maintain accurate records.
- Utilize accounting software and copies of original documents
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and clarify any discrepancies.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may affect clients.
- Assist in resolving any issues or inquiries from tax authorities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in public accounting or as a Tax Preparer is preferred.
- Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar financial software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client interactions.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of financial sales concepts is a plus.
