Girard College seeks energetic, experienced and caring Paraprofessionals beginning September 2024. These positions support and assist the teacher with students in elementary and middle school grades. The Paraprofessional will assist the teacher with responsibilities that include but are not limited to lesson plans, interacting and engaging with students and families, scheduled activities. S/he will also work collaboratively with teachers in other disciplines as well as the residential staff responsible for the elementary grade students and participate fully in the college academic and residential community. An imaginative and exciting classroom management style is a must, as well as the ability to effectively model and implement Girard’s Mission and the Core values: Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Courage, and Compassion. The position reports directly to the Principal.
Responsibilities of Girard College Paraprofessionals:
- Assists students individually or in small groups
- Assists students with technology devices
- Assists in conducting scheduled activities
- Assist in building good character
- Assists in the development of instructional materials
- Escorts and monitors students as requested
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Demonstrate ability in written and oral communication in the English language
- This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Must have at least 60 college credits, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- At least one year of relevant experience in an educational or childcare setting
- Strong ability to work with children
- Strong collaboration skills; team player
- Effective multi-tasker: can prioritize tasks based on importance
Salary : $36,500 - $38,000
