Overview
GFA is seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience with various cutting and machining processes. As a Saw Operator, you will be responsible for operating saws and other machinery to cut Wood to precise specifications, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the production process.

Duties

Operate and monitor saws to cut materials according to specified dimensions.
Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy in cuts.
Perform quality inspections on finished products to maintain high standards.
Collaborate with team members to set up tooling and adjust machinery as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the cutting process.
Maintain equipment in good working condition through regular cleaning and basic maintenance.
Assist in programming machines for specific cutting tasks when necessary.
Work with additional machinery such as stamping presses, lathes, and laser cutting equipment as required.

Requirements

Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in operating saws or similar machinery.
Familiarity with programming machines is a plus.
Proficient in using precision measuring instruments for quality assurance.
Experience with tooling setup and adjustments is preferred.
Ability to perform quality inspections on finished products.
Knowledge of welding techniques and electrical discharge machining is advantageous.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
