The GIRL SCOUTS HEART OF NJ is seeking a talented and dedicated professional to fill the role of Camp Director and Operations Manager. This position plays a critical part in delivering high-quality outdoor camping programs at The OVAL and Camp DeWitt, catering to the diverse needs and interests of youth and adult members, as well as rental groups.
Main Responsibilities:
- Designs and implements year-round and summer camp programs that align with council goals and adhere to all applicable standards.
- Ensures compliance with American Camp Association Standards, NJ Youth Camp Standards, GSHNJ and GSUSA guidelines, OSHA requirements, and county, state, federal regulations.
- Oversees the year-round usage of camp facilities by managing client recruitment, rental scheduling, staffing, supply purchasing, and on-site group needs.
- Manages year-round and seasonal staff, including recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating employees.
Key Qualifications:
- B.A. in education, recreation, outdoor leadership, or equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 years' managerial experience.
- Minimum of 5 or more years in camp administration, youth programming, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of ACA standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-browsing software.
