Camp Leadership Director

Job Description

The Camp Leadership Director will oversee the development and execution of the Counselors-in-Training (CIT) summer camp sessions for Girl Scouts Heart of Pennsylvania. Due to close contact and overnight supervision of a minor girl population in this residential setting, the Summer Camp CIT Supervisor must be female.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute all CIT programs.
• Evaluate CIT performance mid-summer and at the end of the camp season, awarding eligible CIT with a certificate of completion.
• Ensure CIT are present at assigned locations and are on time for all programs throughout each day.
• Maintain written records of CIT and CIT programming, making formal reports as necessary.
• Conduct random cabin inspections to ensure units are tidy and well-maintained.
• Plan and lead staff meetings when the Summer Camp Manager and Summer Camp Unit Supervisor are absent.
• Assist in the execution of the GSHPA crisis management plan for emergencies that may occur during camp.
• Foster an environment that follows all ACA and GSUSA guidelines in activity areas.
• Adhere to GSHPA code of conduct, rules, and expectations.

Requirements:

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree or coursework in Camp Administration, Education, Outdoor Education, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience working in a camp leadership setting is essential.
• Prior experience working with young adults is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate girls to participate in activities and lead activities professionally.
• Valid driver's license is mandatory.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• Strong communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
