The Grant Writer is responsible for identifying and tracking current and potential grant applications from foundations, corporations and individuals. He or she works alongside the Director of Development, researching and securing grant opportunities, while drafting and submitting grant outcome statements.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, identify, and prioritize grant funding opportunities to support GSHPA program delivery and operational needs.
- Engage and steward GSHPA's relationship with United Ways and Foundations across our 30-county footprint to solicit allocation grants.
- Generate revenue through timely submission of well-written and documented grant proposals to foundation, corporate, and government funders.
- Manage grants received, including logging relevant communications, maintaining grant documentation, and ensuring timely reporting.
- Collaborate with program and property departments for tracking grant deliverables and drafting outcome reports.
- Collaborate with Finance Department to reconcile pledge, gift, payment and donor restriction entries on a monthly basis.
- Solicit sponsorships and track related deliverables for special events including the Highest Awards, Women of Distinction, JGL, etc.
- Attend and provide support for development related special events as needed.
- Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Demonstrate commitment to the Girl Scout mission by representing GSHPA in a positive and professional manner.
- Work independently with limited supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of council-wide initiatives and / or cross functional teams to further the mission of GSHPA.
