Job Overview
This is seasonal job at a summer camp. The job starts on May 28th and ends on July 4th. One full-time seasonal position and one part-time seasonal position available.
If you do not have your lifeguard certification, we will provide training for you to get it. You must pass the training in order to get be a lifeguard.

Lifeguard
PRIMARY PURPOSE: To assist the Waterfront Director in the organization and administration of the waterfront programs within the established standards and policies.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Waterfront Director
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
· Assist in the classification and instruction of campers in waterfront activities including swimming and boating.
· Enforce all safety regulations related to waterfront activities as established by GSUSA, GSHS, ACA, ARC, and the State of Mississippi.
· Maintain all waterfront equipment in safe condition.
· Ensure that all waterfront areas are maintained in safe, clean and healthy condition, assisting the Camp Ranger in the cleaning of the pool.
· Participate in all in-service activities.
· Arrive early to waterfront locations to get them prepared for the activity.
· Assist in planning unit activities.
· Serve as a lifeguard for recreational swims.
· Serve as a lifeguard during boating activities.
· Assist and participate in All Camp activities.
· Assist in the opening and closing of camp, including preparation of the waterfront areas and inventory of all waterfront equipment.
· Assist in unit activities when not involved with waterfront responsibilities.
· Uphold all standards and policies as set forth by GSUSA, GSHS, ACA.
· Carry out other responsibilities as designated by the director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· 18 years of age.
· Current certification in Lifeguard Training, 1st Aid and CPR.
· Ability to teach and be a lifeguard.
· Ability to use good judgment and react quickly in an emergency.
· Experience in working with children.
