Position Description:
Are you a college student ready to make a difference this summer? Join Girl Scouts Louisiana East as a Resident Camp Counselor!
Youll gain leadership, outdoor, and youth development experience while living and working at camp. Inspire girls, lead adventures, and have fun in the sun all summer long!
What Youll Do (in a nutshell):
As a Camp Counselor, youll be a role model, cheerleader, and safety guide. You'll lead and participate in fun activities like:
- Outdoor Adventures: Canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, swimming, campfires, and more!
- Creative Experiences: Arts, crafts, games, and themed events.
- Girl-Led Fun: Help girls plan their own adventures and learn life-changing skills.
- Team Support: Collaborate with fellow counselors to create an unforgettable experience for every camper.
- Health & Safety: Supervise campers, enforce safety rules, and respond to any incidents with care and professionalism.
Schedule & Commitment:
- Camp Season: May 16, 2025 July 3, 2025
- Seasonal, Full-Time: Sunday through Friday, some Saturdays
- Overnight stay at camp is required
Requirements:
- Age 18
- High school diploma or GED required
- On-site overnight availability (SunFri)
- Experience with horseback riding, canoeing, swimming
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Membership in Girl Scouts or obtained at hire
- Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
