PURPOSE:
To be responsible for planning, teaching, and coordinating Activities in the Tag Unit.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Provide opportunities for the unit so that each individual camper experiences success during camp.
2. Participate in all scheduled activities with the children (i.e., all Tag Staff must swim with the children).
3. Teach camping skills and appreciation of the out-of-doors.
4. Adhere to the established Tag Unit hours and established break schedule. (Hours: Monday through Wednesday 8:30a.m.-4:00p.m. and from 8:30a.m. Thursday through 4:00p.m. Friday).
5. Set a good example for others in the areas of cleanliness, sanitation, punctuality, sharing, clean-up, sportsmanship, and manners.
6. Assume responsibility for the physical health and safety and the mental welfare of the campers.
7. Help provide for the physical health and safety and the mental welfare of the campers.
8. Guide activities and experiences in the unit through use of scheduled activities provided by Day Camp Directors and activities that have been planned in Staff Training. Assist program staff, craft staff, kitchen staff in special events and programs involving campers.
9. Help Tag Supervisor with scheduling of activities as well as unit staff time off.
10. Follow camp rules and regulations.
11. While spending the night on Thursday nights Tag Staff will stay with campers and provide supervision though out the night.
12. These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassessed, and other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 15 years old.
- Experience working with children.
- Ability to teach and guide campers.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Able to communicate effectively with staff and campers.
- Possess enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control.
- Readiness and ability to adapt to camp work situations.
- Ability to make immediate and appropriate decisions in a crisis and deal with emergency situations.
- Must hold membership in the Girl Scout organization and subscribe to the tenets of the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
