Position Overview
As a Lead Camp Counselor, you will be part of a dynamic team that fosters growth, inclusion, and adventure for campers. Your primary responsibilities will include leading and guiding a group of campers, developing and implementing programs, and collaborating with other staff members to ensure a seamless experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of counselors, providing guidance and support to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for campers.
- Develop and implement engaging programs that cater to diverse interests and abilities, including hiking, hot elements, archery, and other outdoor skills activities.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless communication and coordination, including working with farm equipment and domestic animals.
- Participate in regular staff meetings and contribute to strategic planning, ensuring alignment with GSCO values and objectives.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of college or relevant work experience preferred.
- Current certifications in First Aid/CPR, Child Abuse Mandated Reporter, Universal Standard Precautions, and Medication Administration.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and work effectively in a team environment.
- Able to hear, listen, see, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, use hands & fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands & arms, and balance.
