As a Membership Recruitment Specialist, you’ll engage and sign up new members, helping girls and young women achieve positive change. For over 100 years, Girl Scouts has empowered girls to lead, break barriers, and create positive change. Girl Scouts’ powerful girl-focused space fosters collaboration over competition, and inspires our members to go beyond dreaming to actual doing.
In this sales-oriented role, you'll meet with students, parents, educators, and community groups—both in-person and remotely—to showcase the transformative impact of Girl Scouts locally and globally. This is a mobilized hybrid work role that includes time in a home office, visits to the main office, and travel up to 90% within your assigned region.
Explore the Dynamic Responsibilities of This Role:
- Travel and create meaningful and lasting connections with recruitment outlets, members, caregivers, schools, faith-based communities, community organizations and other contacts.
- Create, design, schedule, promote and conduct events bringing parents, students, caregivers, potential scouts, and teachers to learn more about Girl Scout membership and its benefits. Often time, this will include providing a sample of the Girl Scout experience.
- Recruit adult members offering them key leadership volunteer opportunities within a troop.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams and local volunteers to deliver impactful and memorable events.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Work experience in a similar role, including membership sales, retail sales, community organizing, recruitment or similar relevant/transferable experience.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends for events.
- Have access to reliable transportation/motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver's license is highly preferred.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish or Portuguese is a huge plus.
