Position Summary
The Community Troop Manager serves as a Girl Scout Leader to multiple troops, representing and extending Girl Scouting in the community. The position ensures that the Girl Scout program is accessible across demographic groups and delivered throughout the assigned jurisdiction.

The position is full time with a competitive starting annualized salary of $46,066!
Essential Job Duties
- Implement the Community Troop Program within assigned areas, focusing on incremental growth in troop membership and supporting the organizational diversity and fund development goals of the Council.
- Recruit potential members from the school community in the assigned area, communicating information pertaining to Girl Scouts to families and school administrations.
- Schedule, plan, and guide regular troop meetings, ensuring the community troop experience continually improves and is relevant, high quality, well rounded, and consistent, and meets the needs of the participants.
- Support the staff service team structure and serve as Troop Organizer in schools as required.
- Cultivate adult participation from parents, school employees, and community partners.
- Works cross-functionally with others as necessary to ensure that participants have exposure to all of the programs that Girl Scouts offers, including, but not limited to, product programs, camps, and community service.
- Manage troop finances, including troop bank accounts, tracking fees and expenses, and developing a monthly and year-end financial report.
- Oversee all troop administrative duties, including registration.
- Ensure overall compliance with any applicable internal policies, guidelines, and funding source regulations.
- Serve as an active participant in District and/or Neighborhood meetings to network with other leaders and engage troops in District activities and events.
- Serve as a collaborative team member, working to advance the mission of Girl Scouts.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent experience required.
- Two (2) years of relevant work experience.
- Red Cross First/CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain such within 6 months of employment.
- Valid state drivers license, proof of insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to our insurance carrier.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of all program-level requirements, including, but not limited to, uniform components, journey options, additional badge work, and specific program-level award requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish a good rapport with children and youth of all abilities.
- Ability to resolve conflict that arises.
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers, and to represent the organization in a professional manner.
- Ability to work well in a team setting.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Ability to manage finances for multiple troops and provide accurate and timely monthly reports.

- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, and work afternoons, evenings, and some weekends.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time operating a computer, including navigating websites, software platforms, spreadsheets and both electronic and paper documents.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copier, and computer printer.
Occasionally positions self to maintain files in file cabinets.
May need to move boxes weighing up to 25 pounds across office for various needs.
The ability to observe details at close range and at a distance.
Is required to drive/ operate an automobile.
Work Environment
Constantly works in an indoor professional office environment. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
