Our Organization : Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho (GSEWNI) is a non-profit dedicated to empowering girls through the Girl Scout four pillars : life skills, STEM, outdoors, and entrepreneurship! The Go Getters Outreach Tri-Cities is a grant-funded program breaking barriers in order to engage Latina Girls and ensure that every girl has the opportunity to be a Girl Scout.
POSITION SUMMARY :
As an Outreach Program Specialist, you'll team up with the Outreach Program Coordinator to facilitate after-school troop meetings and deliver the magic of Girl Scouting to bilingual Outreach Girl Scout Troops in Pasco and Richland. This position directly serves young girls in under resourced communities, delivering the full Girl Scout experience to girls who may otherwise not have the opportunity to participate. The Outreach Program Specialist fosters positive relationships with girls, families, staff, and community members.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION :
- Use our engaging curriculum to lead girls through exciting activities that cover all things STEM, outdoors, life skills, and entrepreneurship.
- Incorporates Girl Scout principles into each meeting with girls : Allow meeting to have elements of girl-led, hands-on, cooperative learning - while providing guidance and supervision as needed.
- Models team work and problem solving while creating opportunities for girls to apply strategies themselves.
- Works seamlessly with co-leaders and other GSEWNI staff.
- Completes paperwork such as attendance, rosters, etc.
- Communicates positively with parents and other community members about Girl Scouts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment :
While performing the essential duties / responsibilities of this job, the employee is exposed to a school environment at a local Elementary School and local Community Center. Secondary work environment consists of the employee exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels. Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment is an integral part of this position, as is the ability to work with high-stress situations based on the nature of GSEWNI mission and daily work.
Salary : $17 - $19
