Our Camp Juniper Knoll overnight camp is a place where energetic and passionate staff come together to provide a safe and positive learning environment for girls ages 5-17.
Team Role
Food Service staff will provide delicious, fresh, well-balanced meals to our campers, adapt menus to dietary needs, maintain safety standards within the kitchen and dining hall, and put together food pack outs for camper groups.
Positions begin between May 29-June 1 with staff training, and finish August 3. Camp is closed June 19 and July 3-5; these days are unpaid. Employees have the option to live on-site in staff housing for no additional cost.
We are seeking candidates for the following positions:

The FOOD SERVICE MANAGER is responsible for the planning, organization and implementation of well-balanced, nutritional meal service to campers and staff. Duties include: Coordinating and supervising all aspects of food service. Working with the camp director to plan weekly menu and food service staff schedule. Managing kitchen inventory and placing food orders. Working with camp director to lead food service staff training. Ensuring that safety standards are being met at the kitchen and dining hall and manages and maintains records and reports. Facilitating the opening and closing of the kitchen for the season with food service staff.
- Candidate must be 21 years of age or older, with Food Service Manager Certification and experience with managing menus and placing food orders.
- Pay: $133 a day ($20 an hour if commuting)

The COOK’s responsibility is to assist the food service manager in all aspects of kitchen management and function as general all around cook for all meals. Duties include: Providing well-balanced nutritional meals that meet all campers and staff dietary needs. Monitoring kitchen helpers in maintaining safe and sanitary food preparations.
- Food Service Manager Certification is strongly preferred.
- Pay: $120 a day ($18 an hour if commuting)

The KITCHEN ASSISTANT is responsible for assisting the food service manager and cook in all aspects of kitchen management. Duties include: Maintaining the kitchen and dining room. Monitoring cleanliness and sanitation. Assisting with meal preparation, service, and clean-up.
- Pay: $100 a day ($15 an hour if commuting)
Qualifications and General Expectations
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age or older. Leadership team positions require 21 years of age or older.
- High School Graduation or GED certificate is required
- Proof of health physical clearing the candidate for work in a camp setting
- Willingness to work and, at times, live in an indoor and outdoor camp setting, which includes working irregular hours with limited or simple equipment, rustic facilities, wildlife and insects; limited technology while at camp, and daily exposure to sun, rain, and other weather conditions
