Job Purpose:
The Statewide Membership Manager is responsible for all aspects of the membership cycle. The Statewide Membership Manager is responsible for executing volunteer and service unit engagement strategies such as delivery of high-quality volunteer trainings, managing volunteer roles, and other engagement opportunities for over 1,400 volunteers. The Statewide Membership Manager builds relationships that retain our Girl Scout membership. Responsibilities also include engaging, recruiting, and managing district volunteer teams statewide. The Statewide Membership Manager’s duties also include communications and delivery of key information to all Girl Scouts of Hawai‘i members.
This position may require work on nights and weekends as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Managing membership goals to include adult and girl annual memberships.
2. Building relationships that retain our Girl Scout members in tandem with the neighbor islands team. Training and supporting volunteers. Recruiting, leading, and managing district administrative volunteers and service units through support, training, and developing volunteer pipeline models. Facilitating team meetings with volunteer groups.
3. Establishing the appropriate volunteer support team to accomplish key
priorities by selecting, appointing, and coaching volunteers and service unit leaders statewide. Establishing and leading the Volunteer Appreciation efforts.
4. Managing communication of key information to all members. Strategizing, planning, creating, and distributing all communications to members throughout the year with goals to increase membership engagement.
5. Providing ongoing support, supervision, and direction to administrative
volunteers statewide by interpreting Girl Scouts of the USA and council policies, standards, and procedures and by directing volunteers to additional support services.
6. Identifying the need for and providing timely problem solving and conflict
resolution support/intervention when appropriate. Coordinating the availability of support services to enable volunteers to carry out the responsibilities of their positions effectively.
7. Serving as the main point of contact for volunteers and acting as a broker to distribute information from staff and to guide volunteers to additional support services and resources.
8. Planning, developing, and executing all training materials for troop leaders and Girl Scout volunteers. Ensuring that all required trainings are up to date and volunteers have received all necessary training.
9. Representing Girl Scouts of Hawai‘i in community activities and initiatives in collaboration with Neighbor Islands staff, and promoting Girl Scouts and expand the base of community support through networking and building community partnerships.
10. Serving as the main point of contact for Salesforce membership registrations, roles and background screenings, gsLearn trainings, new leader onboarding, VTK and resources, banking and finance (bylaws, TFR, money earning), travel and trip approvals, service unit development, and any other training and support.
11. All other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Education Bachelor’s degree and/or 4 years equivalent experience in related field such as: communications, nonprofit management, marketing, community development, volunteer engagement and support.
Experience

- Proven time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Proven success in setting expectations and maintaining accountabilities.
- Ability to work independently and with a diverse team.
- Adept at change management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, social media, and ability to learn proprietary software with a preference for candidates with Salesforce experience.
Licenses/Certifications Personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and current insurance.
