About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team at Bear Creek Aquatic Camp, owned and operated by Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana. As an integral member of our food services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals to our campers and staff.
The Assistant Kitchen Manager will work closely with the Kitchen Manager to plan and prepare nutritious meals for up to 70 campers per session. This includes assisting with menu planning, preparing three daily meals, maintaining and cleaning the industrial kitchen, and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and participate in the preparation of the daily camp food service operation.
- Work with the Kitchen Manager to plan and prepare nutritionally balanced meals for campers, staff, and volunteers.
- Ensure special food requirements, such as gluten-free and vegetarian diets, are managed with utmost importance.
- Partner with administrative staff to plan, prepare, and deliver timely and accurate pack-out and travel camp food.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in an industrial kitchen.
- Minimum of 6-12 months of prior kitchen or restaurant management experience.
- Prior experience cooking and serving 50-150 people per day.
- Documented experience in meal preparation for those with restricted diets and/or food allergies.
