Join our dynamic Membership team as a Membership Outreach Specialist, where you'll take the lead running Girl Scout informational nights by engaging with future Girl Scouts and speaking with families to promote the Girl Scout experience.
In this role, you will execute high-impact recruitment events in your community and actively sell the Girl Scout mission to prospective members. This position is ideal for a self-motivated, outgoing, and enthusiastic individual who is excited to meet and exceed membership goals.
This role is a part-time (seasonal) employee, with hours primarily available in early evening but can include some day or weekends; we can work with your availability. Hours will vary seasonally as needed, with our peak season being August-November, January, and April-May. Looking for individuals who live in Fulton, Montgomery, and Schoharie Counties for this region.
Position Description:
The Membership Outreach Specialist is the face of Girl Scouts welcoming potential Girl Scouts and their families to our mission. You will be responsible for implementing effective recruiting strategies and program activities. At these events you focus on recruiting adult and girls, capturing leads, hosting engaging Girl Scout activity for girls and their caregivers, and using proven sales techniques to convert leads in support of council membership goals. The Membership Outreach Specialist plays a crucial role in expanding our Girl Scout community and helping potential Girl Scouts discover new opportunities.
This position does not require in-office time. Outside of trainings, you will be out in the community at schools, libraries, and other community settings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute high-impact recruitment events to showcase the Girl Scout experience, attracting both girls and volunteers. Serving as primary on-site host for Girl Scout events designed to introduce Girl Scouts to potential new girls and families.
- Establish rapport with potential members quickly, utilizing strong communication skills through in-person conversations.
- Implement a consistent, repeatable process for recruitment efforts to ensure dependable outcomes and increased success.
- Clearly communicate to potential members the Girl Scouts mission including the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and the benefits of being a Girl Scout member.
- Efficiently and precisely submit event documentation, summarizing key details, significant conversations, and event attendance.
- Ensure Girl Scouts is open to all families by delivering the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity to our members.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Maintain certification in emergency first aid and CPR.
- Possess and maintain a valid New York State driver's license and reliable mode of transportation.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Bilingual skills, primarily Spanish, preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 10 to 20lbs. on occasion.
- Ability to traverse through a school environment or similar and outdoor/camp environment.
- Communicate in outdoor and sometimes noisy environments.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
