The Program Facilitator, Broadway Bound is responsible for creating a safe and enjoyable experience for Girl Scouts attending this destination event. In this role they will oversee the around-the-clock care of Girl Scouts throughout the Broadway Bound Destination trip alongside council staff and another Program Facilitator. This will include working with a group of 18-22 high school Girl Scouts throughout a week-long trip, from July 12, 2025 to July 19, 2025 in New York City and overnight supervision while residing on our campsite at Lake Rickabear Camp in Kinnelon, New Jersey. They will work under the direction of the Program Manager and provide valuable support in the successful implementation of the Program plans associated with this event.
Duration of the assignment with overnight stays: approximately 8 days. The Program Facilitator will receive a total of $1,100 stipend for the 8-day long trip.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
- Keep track of all 18-22 girls throughout the days and nights in and around New York City.
- Establish individual intentional bonds with each Girl Scout regularly to make sure they feel seen, heard and supported.
- Resolve any issues/discomforts a girl may experience as well as any conflicts that arise between girls.
- Help facilitate daily travel trips around the New York City Metropolitan area. This includes bus etiquette, keeping track of personal belongings, and pedestrian etiquette.
- Act according to Girl Scout Law and behavior expectations and adhere to the Girl Scout ratio rules.
- Follow the rule of “No adult should ever be alone with a girl” when possible.
- Ensure their own and the Girl Scouts’ safety throughout travel in the densely populated New York City.
- Understand and follow the group's emergency procedures for travel.
- Spend each night at Camp Rickabear in a site manager apartment to maintain ratio requirements and supervision of the girls.
- Assist in the arrival and departure of Destination participants to and from Newark International Airport and Camp Rickabear.
- Regularly report girls’ experiences with council staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay: $1,100 total for the 8-day trip

- Must be able to address issues and resolve conflict effectively.
- Must be able to communicate well with other staff and program participants and community partners.
- Experience working with youth.

- Walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching and ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
- Must be comfortable to daily exposure to seasonal weather conditions when program is held outdoors and/or the campground.
- Must be able to work in a rustic camp environment with limited access to cell phone service and internet.
- Must be able to walk extensive lengths each day in New York City.
