To guide girls in planning and carrying out activities that will reflect their interests and develop their leadership skills within the framework and policies of GSUSA. Directly supervise Unit Counselors. Responsible for assisting and directing all Unit Counselors with needs. Play a role in the development, implementation, and delivery of Girl Scout programs to units. Responsible for meeting the needs of all campers in the unit and ensuring a safe and healthy experience.

Our Council owns and operates Skyland Ranch, a magnificent 192-acre camp property in the San Jacinto Mountains below the town of Idyllwild. With a focus on building courage, confidence and character through outdoor experiences.
Note : The Council recognizes the value of the camp experience for our girls and will be making every effort to open Skyland Ranch for camp programs that protects the safety of our campers and staff from the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it should be understood that any offers of employment would be contingent on the lifting of current or future restrictions regarding camps.

A Day in the Life as a Unit Leader As a Unit Leader, you awake each day ready to make a positive difference in the lives of our camp participants. You directly supervise Unit Counselors and ensure that they have everything they need to ensure a safe and healthy experience for the campers. You assist in developing and implementing program ideas, plan activities for units, and evaluate the quality of the program. You ensure delivery of the Girl Scout leadership experience, including processes, outcomes, badges, and journey activities. You supervise and evaluate Unit Counselors assigned to you and keep them informed of pertinent information. You supervise and participate directly in delivering all camp activities including wake-up, meals, program, rest time, and more. You love being involved in such a variety of tasks and get great satisfaction out of making a positive impact in the lives of those you serve.

A requirement of you employment with the Girls Scouts of San Gorgonio is that all staff members must successfully complete and pass a Live Scan finger print background check.
This requirement is in compliance with California Legislation AB506 whereas any administrator, employee, or regular volunteer, of a youth service organization must go through a finger print background check (Live Scan).
the information the organization receives will show any previous criminal history recorded by the Department of Justice (CA DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) for the length of your employment. Additionally, any future infractions wit the two previously stated agencies will be reported to the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio during your employment.
