The Customer Care Specialist is responsible for successfully converting leads of individuals interested in joining Girl Scouts into registered girl and adult members while providing the highest level of customer service to all members and customers. As part of the Customer Care team, this position serves as the first point of contact for internal and external customer inquiries and performs a wide variety of tasks throughout several online platforms.
This is a full-time, non-exempt telecommute position. Benefit eligible, including medical, dental, vision, life, long-term disability, 10 paid holidays a year, 12 days of vacation (4-day work weeks), 3 days of personal time, and 12 days of sick, all earned each year. Additionally, we offer a 403b and match after 1 year, and offer the option to enroll in other supplementary benefits.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity in a timely fashion and coordinate the placement of registered girls and adults into appropriate service units and/or troops by phone calls, emails, etc.
- Receive incoming telephone calls/requests and emails from internal and external customers and follow established handling and documentation processes and instructions.
- Complete functions including but not limited to the inputting and monitoring of calendar events, membership registrations, and participation assignments, camp reservations, and financial transactions.
- Set reasonable customer satisfaction goals and work with team to meet them on a consistent basis.
- Build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication.
- Remain current and informed regarding upcoming events by reading and reviewing the Council calendar and publications.
- Responsible for data integrity and data entry.
- Provide in person Girl Scout retail shop back-up as requested.
- Ensure Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scouts message of pluralism and diversity to members of the council.
- Collaborate with other departments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of relative work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and databases.
- Demonstrated ability and proficiency to perform data entry with extreme accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior organizational skills, with the ability to carry out a variety of responsibilities with shifting priorities.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work remotely with efficiency and limited supervision.
- Must have a clean workspace in the home environment, away from noise and distractions.
- Willingness to perform tasks involving the ability to exert light physical effort, which may include lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects and materials of moderate weight (20-25 pounds).
- Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Understanding and acceptance of the Girl Scout Promise & Law, beliefs, and principles.
- Willingness to become a member of Girl Scouts of the USA.
Job Type: Full-time
