Position Title: Community Growth Specialist
Department: Engagement
Reports to: Director, Membership

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Community Growth Specialist is responsible for successfully implementing recruitment efforts by promoting Girl Scouting through a variety of means including in-person events, virtual programs, and phone calls. This position will develop and foster community partnerships and volunteer involvement while providing a consistent image of the Council’s commitment to Girl Scouts and the community at large. They will work to increase awareness and participation in Girl Scouts through a variety of in person and virtual meetings, events, presentations, and networking opportunities with community organizations, corporations, schools, educators, faith-based institutions, and other community constituents within specific regions of the Council as assigned. They will have the opportunity to interact directly with families and girls, introducing them to the benefits Girl Scouting can offer. They will build excitement within their communities about the power of the Girl Scout Leadership experience.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Assists in achieving the council’s strategic goals for girl and adult membership through implementing membership recruitment strategies.
2. Supports implementation of membership recruiting marketing strategies outlined in the council’s strategic plan, annual business plan and/or other council goals primarily through events, lead generation events, and networking opportunities.
3. Works with a cross functional team to develop innovative techniques to ensure the effective delivery of recruitment strategies.
4. Cultivates relationships with appropriate community organizations, corporations, schools, educators, faith-based institutions, and other community constituents to cultivate interest, increase collaboration and visibility in the communities.
5. Become the expert on their assigned communities, ensuring that Girl Scouting is an opportunity available to girls and their families based upon community needs and partnerships.
6. Collaborates with other departments when necessary to provide proper messaging and appropriate material.
7. Develops a depth of knowledge regarding the design of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and can easily articulate to any individual or group the virtues and value of the organization.
8. Prepares reports as required.
9. Organize external communication, marketing, and communication in collaboration with the Director Membership and Marketing Department.
10. Promotes and assists with Council wide programs, activities, and public relations.
11. Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity to all.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Knowledge of sales, recruiting, marketing or related field.
· Proven sales experience dealing directly with customers or experience with customer stewardship creating strong partnerships.
· Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
· Supports and believes in the mission of the Girl Scouts.
· Membership in Girl Scouts is strongly encouraged.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
· Excellent, effective English language abilities, both oral and written. Spanish language abilities a plus.

WORK SCHEDULE/CONDITIONS:
· This is a full-time position.
· Frequent travel through the Council to accomplish tasks and lead events.
· Occasional evenings and weekend work as the organization needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
