You Will
The Analytics team is one of three departments under Analytics & Insights, which is part of the larger Strategy and Planning Community. Analytics & Insights is comprised of three teams: Research, Analytics, and Data Engineering. Analytics & Insights is charged with producing data-driven insights to improve and inform decision making, strategic development, and identify areas of opportunity across the organization and movement. Analytics & Insights serves all Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) departments and 111 Girl Scout councils by leveraging internal and third-party data, resources, and research, or finding new data sources to fill any gaps to inform insights. The team is also responsible for producing on-going and ad-hoc analyses and dashboards to ensure movement stakeholders have the information necessary to make informed decisions. The Analytics team helps inform the creation of and track KPIs and metrics to understand the customer experience and measure the performance of strategies and initiatives. This Analytics & Insights team is also responsible for Enterprise Data Management, required to enable data-driven decisions. This includes data management, privacy, quality and governance.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Analyst is responsible for analyzing data, driving business insights, and providing hands-on support for business users across the organization. This role will focus on leveraging data to inform strategic decisions, developing reports, and ensuring data integrity, while also acting as a primary point of contact for report or visualization-related questions, troubleshooting, and user training. In this role, the candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders (particularly in the retail area – merchandise and cookies) and be responsible for month-end, quarterly and year-end reporting. The Analyst will need to understand stakeholder reporting needs, create intuitive dashboards with existing tools or create new data products translating complex data from multiple sources into meaningful insights. The business stakeholders in the retail area are knowledgeable and need a quick, self-service environment. Additionally, they will have ad-hoc questions and require day-to-day technical support, troubleshooting of data or visualization concerns with Looker, Power BI or other tools.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, retail and/or merchandise experience, proficiency in SQL, experience with Looker or other Business Intelligence (BI) tools, and excellent communication skills to support and guide both technical and non-technical users at all levels of the organization.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Primary duties of the position

Business/Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions.
- Create and maintain self-service environments, dashboards, reports, and data visualizations in Looker or other BI Tools that communicate key metrics and insights to stakeholders across the organization.
- Collaborate with business units to understand their data needs and translate those into technical requirements for reporting, data quality improvements and analytics.
- Validate data to ensure accuracy and reliability of reports and visualizations.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses to support various business functions and initiatives.
End-User Support:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for Looker and other BI tool end-users, providing support and training to enhance their ability to access and interpret data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to dashboards, data, and reports, working closely with the business team (such as the Revenue Office), Analytics & Data Engineering team as needed.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including user guides and best practices, to support end-users in their use of Looker.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to improve data literacy across the organization.
- Gather and assess feedback from end-users to continuously improve the data experience and ensure it meets their evolving needs.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with members of the Analytics & Insights team to ensure data quality, models and pipelines support reporting needs.
- Communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, providing data-driven insights and support as needed.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices for retail reporting, and emerging tools in data analytics and visualization.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline data reporting processes and self-service.
- Proactively suggest improvements to data infrastructure and processes that enhance data accessibility and usability.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer sciences, analytics, or equivalent work experience
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Advanced proficiency with data visualization using BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
- Knowledge of retail business and analytics is a big plus
- Conceptual thinker with strong analytic and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to communicate insights verbally, visually, and in writing
- Proactive self-starter and team player with high attention to detail and strong multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to pick up and master new technology quickly and with minimal assistance
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
Office 365 or similar suites
Competency in PowerPoint or similar presentation software
Competency in Microsoft Excel or similar software
BI Tools (Looker, PowerBI, etc.)
Knowledge of Snowflake and SQL a plus
Knowledge of NetSuite, OpSuite, Lightspeed or equivalent retail systems a plus
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (i.e., degrees, certifications)
Degree or Equivalent Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Years of Experience: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in business environment
Salary Range $58,900.00 - $80,000.00
This represents the present low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.
