What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Camp Program Coordinator position at Girl Scouts San Diego Summer Camp Positions?

Your summer will look like this:
Delivers camp activities that are safe, fun and appropriate to campers' age and abilities.
Assist the Camp Director by giving direction and guidance to day camp staff and volunteers and in implementing camp programs, pre-camp training, planning, and preparation.
Assume role of site director in director's absence, as assigned.
Supervise unit kapers (chores) and care of equipment and supplies.
Supervise safety and sanitation throughout camp.
Plan, prepare, and teach arts and crafts activities using different art mediums.
Develop and deliver a nature education and environmental program that is appropriate for the age and ability of the campers and uses the camp's natural environment.
Lead teambuilding and challenge course activities in a safe and supportive environment
Instruct campers in outdoor cooking techniques and ensure proper food safety and food handling during outdoor cooking activities.
Ensure campers and staff understand and follow safety and educational procedures in the challenge course and sports area.
Perform other duties, as assigned.

Here is what it takes:
Be at least 21 years of age
Ability to work with children and staff of different ages
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of day camp management
Ability to supervise and train staff and volunteers
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a team setting with diverse persons
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or able to obtain certification before the first day of work
Valid drivers' license, proof of insurance and access to reliable transportation (Daily and/or occasional travel may be required.)
