We are currently hiring for a Seasonal Property Assistant (Part-Time) at our Camp Crossed Arrows in Nickerson, Nebraska.

Key Accountabilities:
1. Meet and greet incoming troops, community visitors and guests in a warm and friendly manner. Provide Camp Safety and Security briefing for overnight and day campers. This includes:
a. Review of troop and guest roster, check in/out procedures, key control, fire, and general safety requirements
b. Camp sites and facilities ready for visitors upon arrival – safe, functional, clean, and ready for use.
2. Support staff, volunteers, and visitors with daily operations for programs, dedicated events, and camping.
3. Maintain current CPR/First Aid certifications if necessary
4. Actively participate in one-on-one and staff meetings, alert management when issues arise that prevent meeting deadlines or goals and provide information and assistance to management in identifying ways to continuously improve work processes of the department. Work cross-functionally and collaboratively in a positive and supportive manner.
5. Assist with maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment. This would be tasks such as but not limited to mowing, trimming, trail maintenance, stocking firewood, snow removal, equipment repairs and basic maintenance (oil changes, greasing, mower blade sharpening etc).
6. If necessary, assist with contractors when repairs are needed to facilities or equipment. Coordinate access to buildings and areas of camp where needed. Make Camp Properties manager aware of all pertinent information. (costs, time estimates for repairs etc.)
7. Assist in spring start up and fall winterization of water systems at seasonal facilities and sites on camp property
8. On occasion be willing to travel to other camp properties and assist where needed.
9. Assist with woodland restoration work at various camp properties. This may include helping with controlled burns, invasive tree removal, brush pile burning etc.
Qualifications:
-Must be willing to work weekends as needed.
-Must be able to lift 50 lbs and traverse uneven ground
-Must have good communication skills
-Must have a valid driver's license
-Must be 18 years of age
-Must pass a background check
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 per week
