What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Specialist position at Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania?

As an Activity Specialist, you will help ensure a positive atmosphere and well-being for all campers. You will be trained in all of our program areas and will help in the planning, setup, execution, and follow up of outdoor Girl Scout events and activities at our camps. The Activity Specialist also facilitates a variety of outdoor activities including archery, canoeing, teambuilding and more.
· This is a seasonal summer position from June-August
· The rate is $12-$18 per hour, based on experience
· Trainings and certifications will be provided in applicable areas
Requirements and qualifications:
· Experience working with children in a youth or outdoor education capacity
· Demonstrated maturity, sound judgement, integrity, and flexibility
· Willingness to adhere to the principles of Girl Scouting, the Girl Scout Promise, and the Girl Scout Law
· Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
· Background checks are required
· Have reliable source of transportation to and from camp
· Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations, surroundings, and circumstances in a quick and effective manner
