What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Assistant position at Girls Inc of Sarasota?
The Kitchen Assistant will work closely with the Girls Inc. Resident Chef for preparation of lunches and afternoon snack. Job responsibilities include shopping and stocking food and supplies, cooking, serving, cleaning and inventory. In this position you will work with the Kitchen Manager on menus, help to prepare daily lunch and afternoon snack, serve lunch, wash dishes ,help to take inventory of and stock food and supplies, assist with special events, assist in training and guiding kitchen volunteers and more. You must be able to lift 40 pounds, work collaboratively with a variety of people, work independently with children, have excellent communication skills and possess strong leadership skills that can energize work teams to respond to our business needs. Must have kitchen experience. Experience in working with kids a plus. Hours are M-F from 12:00-6:30 and includes a 30 minute break. During Summer hours will be 10:00 - 6:30 and include a 30 minute break.
