Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Finance Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will report to the Executive Director and is a member of the leadership team. This position is responsible for instituting systems that provide effective internal management of fiscal functions across the organization. The Finance Manager is responsible for record keeping, reporting, forecasting and analysis, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, as well as timely processing of payroll and deductions schedules, preparing, recording, and processing accounts payable, receivable and cash disbursements and receipts, and overseeing selected agreements and contracts.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Ensure day-to-day financial operations are executed in an efficient, effective, and timely manner.
- Prepare and process invoices, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank statements and company records.
- Manage the general ledger accounting, including journal entries and adjustments.
- Assist in budgeting processes by providing necessary financial data and reports.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Utilize Quickbooks accounting software for daily transactions and reporting.
- Manage agency's retirement plan; apprise employees of and ensure accurate enrollment in plans.
- Develops annual budget and monitors projections; develop budgets required for individual grants or funding sources.
- Attend board meetings and present financial reports and data as requested by the Finance committee.
- Complete timely filing of all IRS forms and other tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with public accounting standards and internal policies.
- Generate financial reports for management review to support decision-making.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management.
- Demonstrated administrative capabilities in finance, planning, administration, and operations with at least 5 years experience.
- Demonstrated ability to follow GAAP accounting principles.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in budget development
- Knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies in financial data.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
