POSITION DETAILS
TITLE: Child Nutrition Assistant
AVAILABLE: Immediately Hiring
REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Manager
SALARY: $15/Hour
GLOW Academy is seeking to add a new member to our Child Nutrition team to serve as a floater to assist in the daily operations of the school nutrition program.
Our cafeteria serves breakfast and lunch for roughly 175 students a day. This is an hourly, part-time position at GLOW Academy. The anticipated hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00am – 2:00pm.
Your duties could vary from day to day, however this role may involve the following responsibilities, all under the supervision of the Child Nutrition Cafeteria Manager:
- Food Preparation:
- Assist with peeling, chopping, slicing, and preparing ingredients.
- Measure and portion ingredients according to recipes.

- Cooking Support:
- Follow instructions to assist with cooking tasks.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food quality.

- Serving Food:
- Serve food from the line in an organized, timely, and courteous manner.
- Ensure proper portion sizes and presentation standards are maintained.

- Cleaning and Sanitization:
- Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and utensils.
- Wash dishes, pots, and pans, ensuring cleanliness standards are met.
- Maintain general kitchen cleanliness and organization.

- Equipment Handling:
- Operate kitchen appliances, such as ovens, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, and computers.
- Report equipment malfunctions.

- Inventory and Stock Management:
- Assist in receiving, unpacking, and storing food supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages.

- Communicate effectively with the cafeteria team to ensure smooth operations.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food service or kitchen work
- Knowledge of food safety and preparation
- Able to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks
The selected candidate must provide documented proof of a negative tuberculosis (TB) test result prior to beginning employment. This will be discussed at the offer stage.
