Overview:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the logistics and execution of Girls Ment To Be’s Saturday Day Camps and Level Up Saturdays. This role ensures smooth program operations, guest speaker coordination, and engagement of participants to align with the organization's mission of empowering young girls through education, mentorship, and skill development.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Planning & Execution:
- Coordinate and oversee the planning and implementation of Saturday Day Camps and Mentoring program.
- Develop and maintain a detailed program schedule with activities and themes.
- Ensure alignment of programs with the organization's core values and educational goals.
- Manage program logistics, including securing venues, materials, and supplies.
Guest Speaker & Facilitator Coordination:
- Identify, recruit, and schedule guest speakers for workshops.
- Ensure speakers are briefed on session objectives and target audience.
- Communicate and coordinate with workshop facilitators to ensure seamless delivery.
Participant Engagement & Support:
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for program participants.
- Monitor attendance and engagement levels, addressing any issues proactively.
- Gather feedback from participants to improve future programming.
Volunteer & Staff Coordination:
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator to assign volunteers to appropriate roles.
- Provide guidance and support to workshop facilitators and mentors.
- Ensure all program staff and volunteers adhere to organization policies and safety guidelines.
Administrative & Reporting Duties:
- Maintain records of program activities, attendance, and feedback.
- Prepare reports on program impact and effectiveness for leadership review.
- Assist with grant reporting and fundraising efforts related to programming.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Experience in event planning, education, youth development, or nonprofit work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and event management tools is a plus.
Time Commitment:
- Approximately 8-12 hours per week, with additional time during program events.
- Availability on Saturdays for program implementation.
