Position Summary
The Program Coordinator must possess a passion for and commitment to improving the lives and opportunities of girls in third through eighth grades. The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing the Girls on the Run program through the lenses of inclusivity, diversity, equity, and accessibility. The Program Coordinator reports to the Program Operations Manager and works closely with the entire GOTRSD team.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Volunteer Coach Management & Training (50%)
- Coordinate and facilitate coach training sessions, alongside Program Operations Manager and Executive Director
- Ensure volunteer satisfaction through customer service, stewardship, and maintaining a positive and welcoming environment both written and verbal
- Oversee document retention of volunteer coaches
- Work with Program Operations Manager to ensure all program sites are staffed with qualified volunteer coaches, assisting with coach recruitment as needed

Site Coordination (30%)
- Collaborate with other staff to implement the Girls on the Run program strategic plan and achieve program goals concerning the number of participants, number of sites, and demographic requirements
- Plan and coordinate site visits with schools and community partners
- Support Program Operations Manager with managing team needs
- Maintain accurate records of site information within GOTRSD systems
- Assist with inventory and purchasing of program materials
- Uphold GOTRSD and sites policies and procedures
Outreach & Marketing (10%)
- Liaise with community members, schools, and other groups to coordinate meetings and outreach opportunities
- Attend outreach events periodically to support program recruitment
- Market program to potential new sites, districts, and afterschool programs per the strategic plan
- Craft social media and newsletter material in coordination with Program Operations Manager
- Assist with the development of program marketing campaigns
Work Environment and Physical Demands: This role offers a hybrid work schedule, with required time in office based on organizational needs. It requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time and frequent communication via phone, email, and video conferencing. It also requires the ability to assist in event set-up, execution, and clean-up.
This position is hybrid and does require travel. Monthly office time with the team is required. Work schedule is flexible Monday - Friday plus occasional weekends.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Education and/or experience in program coordination
- Customer service experience is a plus
- Understanding of volunteerism best practices
- Outstanding communication skills in multiple environments and with a range of audiences both internal and external
- Proficient skills in Google Workspace, Gmail, Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of social media platforms
- Access to reliable transportation and ability to travel locally within the San Diego area (mileage reimbursement applicable). Possible national travel once per year
- A meaningful commitment to leveraging the opportunities of this role to implement a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion into the fundraising and development plan

Compensation & Benefits
This is a part-time (20-30 hours per week) hourly, non-exempt role offering a compensation of $22 an hour. This role has the potential to turn into a full-time position based on review prior to the start of the 25/26 financial year.
