Title: Program Coordinator
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: Hybrid (primarily remote) with residency required in one of the 3 Connecticut counties this role supports (New London, Middlesex & Windham)
FLSA Status: Non-exempt, part-time (15-18 hours per week)

Girls on the Run of Southeastern CT is a local nonprofit organization that operates as a part of Girls on the Run International and is dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Position Profile: We’re excited to welcome a Program Coordinator to our team to support our program outreach, coach training and administrative functions. The Girls on the Run Program Coordinator should possess a passion for and commitment to improving the lives and opportunities of girls in third through eighth grades. This position will report to the Girls on the Run Executive Director.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Program Outreach and Site Management
- Implement the Girls on the Run strategic program plan and achieve or exceed program goals with respect to number of girls, number of sites and demographic requirements
- Market Girls on the Run program to potential sites
- Participate in community events throughout Eastern CT to raise awareness about Girls on the Run and our programs
- Work with a diverse group of community leaders, schools and other groups to maximize Girls on the Run success and impact
- Coordinate new and existing sites
- Work with the Program Committee and Executive Director to coordinate Team Adelaide visits
- Reinforce current site policies and procedures, innovating and improving as needed
- Collaborate with board and Executive Director to plan and execute End of Season 5K Celebrations
Coach Management and Training
- Ensure program sites are staffed with qualified volunteer coaches
- Collaborate with Executive Director and NCT trainers to manage coach training, including Girls on the Run training, CPR & First Aid, and background checks
- Reinforce current coaching policies and procedures and generate continuous improvement
- Manage inventory and distribution of coach and program curriculum, materials and supplies
Budget and Administrative
- Collect data and manage information of rosters, girls, statistics and revenue
- Manage coach files, sites files and other program-related paperwork
- Research and recommend future school sites
- Assist the Executive Director with researching funding for reaching new sites and providing scholarship assistance
Qualities and Qualifications
- Passion for Girls on the Run mission
- A dedication to Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity and Access
- Outstanding communication skills in multiple environments and with a range of audiences (internal and external)
- Ability to work on multiple projects, prioritize and make efficient decisions
- Attention to detail and basic computer skills; Experience with basic CRM systems, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office
- Flexible and adaptable
- Regular travel throughout Connecticut, flexible schedule including some nights and weekends as needed
- Experience with youth or wellness programs a plus!
- Proven ability to connect with local communities
