POSITION OVERVIEW
Executive Director
leads the effective, sustainable, and year-round administration of GR!DC in alignment with organizational values. They set and implement the strategic goals and direction for the organization and ensure that GR!DC has the resources needed to achieve those goals.
Executive Director
reports to the GR!DC Board of Directors, which provides financial and governance oversight for the organization. They direct all work across the organization's five function areas : administration and operations, finance, fundraising, communications, and programming. They directly supervise one employee, the Program Director. They oversee the work of three contractors : Finance and Administration Coordinator, Communications Coordinator, and Grant Coordinator. They can bring on additional staff or contractors, as desired.
COMMUNICATIONS
Work with communications staff on an integrated communications strategy and oversee its implementation to increase the visibility of GR!DC across key stakeholder audiences and deepen engagement with the organization's supporters. Develop and ensure the use of a consistent, mission-aligned GR!DC "voice." Maintain and leverage the organization's email list, website, and social media presence to achieve communications goals. Create marketing and outreach materials. Oversee daily general communication and inquiries submitted to the organization through post and email. Directly oversee the Communications Coordinator, who is responsible for supporting the execution of GR!DC's communications and outreach goals.
Specifically :
Review and approve a communications strategy
Represent org in 1-2 media hits per month
On a daily basis, clear the info inbox
Review the website weekly and update as needed
Create automations for email signups
On a weekly basis, check email list : culling of bounces / bad emails, segmenting / laddering of new emails
Supervise Communications Coordinator
FUNDRAISING
Develop and execute an annual fundraising plan. Maintain a donor database to support strategic fundraising and IRS compliance. Process and acknowledge all gifts, act as the primary point of contact with donors, and ensure regular communication with donors. Expand and diversify individual donor base and cultivate donor relationships. Ensure compliance with grant reporting and requirements, working with Grant Coordinator to create and maintain standardized templates and resources using a unified, GR!DC voice for all proposals. Partner with the Board of Directors as they take on an active fundraising role.
Act as a public representative of the organization. Speak on behalf of the organization when appropriate. Engage with donors and build relationships with community partners. Design and implement special fundraising and visibility events to engage the community, and partner with others to carry out events such as benefit shows.
Specifically :
Create a fundraising strategy
Represent org at 2 networking / partnership / relationship-building events / meeting per month
Sign and execute grant agreements, and fulfill reporting requirements
Act as primary point of contact for individual donors, acknowledge all gifts and provide an engagement ladder to increase retention and gift size
Attend and support all GR!DC-led fundraising events
Supervise Grant Coordinator
ADMINISTRATION AND OPERATIONS
Provide the overall strategic direction for GR!DC's internal operations. Create and ensure the functioning of sustainable administrative systems and processes (such as workflow, decision-making, and leadership and skill development) aligned with the organization's values. Spearhead structure, growth, and culture of the team. Oversee human resource management, knowledge management, and physical resource management.
Set annual organizational and program goals, define messaging frameworks, and develop budgets and fundraising plans to support these goals. Provide ongoing and regular monitoring and evaluation of progress towards these goals. Contribute to internal, donor, and public reporting on the activities of the organization. Provide skill and leadership development to team members. Support the effective governance of the Board of Directors.
Specifically :
Provide overarching human resources management
Create and oversee functioning of organization structure and decision making flows
Hold and facilitate monthly team meetings
Ensure weekly check ins between all team members and their supervisors
Draft and maintain all job descriptions and scopes of work
Ensure timely payment of wages / stipends / fees
Annually update employee manual and contracts
Ensure effective avenues for conflict mediation and whistleblowing
Maintain employee and contractor files
Provide targeted mentorship and support to new and younger employees and contractors
Provide 2 opportunities for professional development per quarter to Board and team members
Maintain data and knowledge management
Organize and maintain file structure (organization, labeling) on Google Drive
Ensure all team members are consistently saving their files on the shared drive
Ensure team members document processes and procedures
Maintain password management in Bitwarden
Liaise with Board of Directors
Draft reports for Board meetings
Provide regular updates to Board via slack on organizational activities and events
Send reminders about Board meetings and deliverables via slack
Ensure Board representation at key events
Keep updated roster of Board members
FINANCE
Provide overall financial oversight and ensure that resources are allocated effectively, efficiently, and equitably. Oversee payroll and accounting. Prepare and maintain the organization's overall and individual program budgets. Directly supervise the Finance and Administration Coordinator, who is responsible for carrying out accounting, compliance, and bookkeeping tasks.
Specifically :
Produce annual organizational and program budgets
Produce monthly and annual financial reports for Board and team
Provide ongoing cash flow analysis and financial oversight and course correcting

PROGRAMMING
Oversee the design and implementation of GR!DC's programming, including GR!ASP, We Rock! Camp, Summer Camp, and other mission-aligned programming. Measure and communicate program outcomes and implement changes as necessary. Directly supervise the Program Director, who is responsible for carrying out all tasks related to programming, and overseeing recruitment, placement, training, and continued engagement of volunteers and youth leaders.

HOURS AND COMPENSATION
Executive Director
will work 30 hours per week either out of the GR!DC office or from home. Work will be completed during weekdays business hours, except in limited circumstances where it may be necessary to work outside of regular business hours to meet with volunteers, Youth Leaders or Board; or during programming when work may happen outside of regular business hours.
This role is compensated at $61,000 annually. 75% FT PTO benefits are outlined in the Employee Handbook.
