Camp Retail Specialist
Position Summary:
Primary responsibilities include providing quality customer service while accurately processing trading post orders and maintaining inventory at the camp store. Partner with other teams to provide resources that support the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
FLSA Status: Seasonal, Part-time, non-exempt
Reports to: Trading Post Manager/Assistant Shop Manager
Essential Functions:
- Process in-store orders for all items sold, including camper credits and preordered items through the seasonal camp stores.
- Provide quality customer service and communicate effectively to volunteers, girls, and other staff.
- Stock and assist in maintaining inventory, ensuring store inventory meets customer demand for camp store merch.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required, i.e., daily cash reports, make bank deposits, and sales summaries.
- Creative problem solving in the areas of maximizing sales potential and controlling expense and shrink.
- Handle customer concerns in a professional and diplomatic manner
- Willingness to take responsibility for self-directed learning.
- Ability to travel for trading post’s needs.
- All other tasks as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Commitment to the aims and purposes of the Girl Scout movement with previous Girl Scout experience preferred.
- One or more years in direct customer service and sales experience/skills preferred.
- Must be computer literate with preferred Point-of-Sale experience as well as other technology such as Microsoft Suite, Google Docs, Teams, etc.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage work time, meet deadlines, and handle a heavy workload in a positive and flexible manner.
- Effective inter-personal, organizational, communication (written and oral) and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate ability to manage money (cash/checks) accurately and follow strict procedures for securing and maintaining safety of same
- Ability to work in a continually changing environment.
Physical Abilities
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
- Physical ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions.
- Able to work a variety of hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Check In and Check Out Days are required.
- Must have a valid AZ driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
