Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Armed Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and visitors. The Armed Security Officer will utilize their training in law enforcement and conflict management to maintain a secure environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activities.
- Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, assessing situations and taking appropriate action.
- Utilize surveillance equipment, including CCTV, to monitor activities and ensure compliance with security protocols.
- Conduct thorough inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify potential security risks.
- Provide first aid and CPR assistance as needed during emergencies.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement when necessary to address security concerns or incidents.
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations for reporting purposes.
- Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft or damage to property.
- Engage in conflict management techniques to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
Requirements
- Valid armed security officer license or certification as required by state regulations.
- Proven experience in law enforcement or military service is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR; certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with surveillance systems, including CCTV operations.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings as per company policy.
- Flexibility in scheduling; willingness to work various shifts including nights and weekends.
