Technologist II Technical Health & Functional Business Unit
Within our Health & Functional (H&F) Business unit, the technical team is a combination of art and science, intimately bound with human psychologies and cultures. This team is the foundation and creative force of the flavors business, who develop creative new food product concepts, evaluate new ingredients and delivery technologies, and most importantly, assist our Account Managers in winning new business.
The Technical Team is responsible to help drive targeted revenue and growth objectives established for our Business Unit. Your primary focus is to assist in new product development projects up to the industrial transfer stage.You will accomplish daily brief-related tasks by performing lab trials, analyzing data, and building knowledge of functional and nutritional ingredients.
Technical Expertise : Support the formulation of new botanical extracts or modification of existing products to meet customer requirements and support quality improvement programs. Assist with ideation (review historical data, research literature, internal discussions, etc).Support preparation of experimental design. Perform lab trials and routine analytical work. Record experimental results and analyze data. Design product specifications and other related technical documents.Maintain all required reports, brief documentation and formula records in company database softwares and communicate updates with project stakeholders.
Team Collaboration : Liaise with supporting departments to perform the due diligence related to product development (Sourcing, Quality, regulatory, etc).Connect with other labs for specific analysis.Support evaluations of ingredient in applications for briefs and technical initiatives when assigned.
Partner and Influence : Develop collaborative partnerships with technical colleagues and other functional partners (Sales, Regulatory, and Production) to increase success with customer briefs. Manage and lead projects, as well as providing technical support to the customer in order to deliver solutions which meet the customers needs.
Manage Organizational Effectiveness : observing EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines. Manage stock libraries within the labs.
You?
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering or similar subject
1 years of experience in related a areas (product development, quality control)
Interpret data to develop products based upon customer requirements
Strong organoleptic skills with the ability to effectively describe flavor profiles
Detailed, organized, and an enthusiastic team player who can respond to changing priorities
Basic project management to plan and execute technical projects
