Join us as our next Warehouse Lead reporting to Warehouse & Distribution Supervisor, you will help lead the distribution and warehouse staff in their basic functions, including providing instructions, delegating work, and being a liaison between material handlers, freight forwarders, supervisor and managers.
You will be based in South Hackensack, NJ.
You will be responsible for:
- Proficient in performing requirements of all Material Handler levels
- Provide guidance to Material Handlers regarding work instructions, GMP’s, Safety, Operations and Departmental Procedures & Guidelines
- Work following all relevant requirements, including GMP, AIB, OSHA, HACCP, FDA, USDA and internal safety guidelines
- Contribute to the safety of the department by following and enforcing safety guidelines
- Enforce compliance of all sanitation cleaning procedures and general housekeeping guidelines with employees
- Prioritize work, implement, and train safe material handling concepts. Conduct Safety Meetings, conduct safety inspections, identify workplace hazards, and identify corrective actions
- Attend site training sessions, including hazardous waste training
- Provide material flow information to Planning, Production, Quality Control, Customer Service, and other relevant sites
- Manage all inbound and outbound orders, domestic shipping documents, customer order shipment and billing and the communication of order status in Givaudan system
- Coordinate shipments following all Federal and UN shipping (i.e. IATA, DOT, FAA) regulations and all customer requests including preparation and maintenance of related documents
- Provide additional or backup support, when needed, to the Sample Hub
- Maintain level of housekeeping/sanitation/food safety and safety which meets Our standards
- Identify deviations and document/communicate them in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures
- Lead lean activities
- Excellent attendance, enthusiasm and a positive approach to work performance
Technical Skills:
- Experience with domestic or international shipping and receiving regulations and protocols, warehouse process flow, production process flow, productions scheduling, and customer service needs
- Competencies including team building, proactive problem solving and ability to work with variety of employees
- Operation of computers - desktop, and hand held for receiving, and real-time inventory updates and customer order shipments
- Obtain DOT, FAA, IATA and HAZMAT certification within 90 days
Required Qualifications:
- 6 years work experience in computerized warehouse.
- Prior experience working in lead capacity
- 1 year experience operating forklift and other powered material handling equipment
- SAP, bar coding experience is required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
