Job Description
Job Title: Site Lead
Supervisor: Program Director
Job Summary
The Site Lead supervises and manages the After School Program (ASP) at the school site, including supervision of all employees, volunteers and students, while making sure all grant requirements are being met. The Site Lead works closely with school site administration, parents, and staff.
Job Skills Required
- Competence and knowledge of reading/language arts, mathematics, science and instructional strategies
- Excellent written and oral communication, networking, negotiation (conflict management and resolution), and presentation skills. Basic computer skills
- Organizational and independent working skills
- Supervision, management, and leadership skills, including knowledge of training, mentoring, and inspiring staff
- Ability to plan and organize work
- Meet schedules and timelines
- The ability to work a mandatory shift of 11:15am until at least 6:15pm and 7:45am until 5:15pm during school intersessions.
- Lead by example with skills for mentoring
- Work with culturally and economically diverse families, students, and staff
Education and Experience
- High School Graduate (must have passed a Proficiency Test with a score of 80% or higher) or possess 48 College Credits.
- Proficiency Test will be scheduled and administered in the main office prior to the initial Onboarding Process.
- Experience and/or training in a closely related employment position preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
- Experience with a organization or related program or field
Licenses and Certificates
- Obtain Department of Justice background and FBI clearance
- Pass the Para Professional Exam (Submit before attending new hire orientation).
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s License with a safe driving record and no 2 point violations (major offenses) within the past 3 years. Employee must notify employer within 30 days of any violation. DMV printout and proof of insurance required annually.
- Clean/negative TB test
Typical Duties
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with GECAC’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include supervising staff and volunteers, completing employee performance reviews, addressing issues/concerns from employees and participating in training of new or existing employees, parents and volunteers.
- Develops, coordinates, manages and supervises the ASP including the homework assistance, social recreation, and enrichment program, and establishes results in all three program components fulfilling ASES grant requirements.
- Assists with all ASP programs and activities.
- Check and correspond daily with emails throughout your shift.
- Works closely with classroom teachers to assist students with homework and school assignments.
- Works closely with staff and volunteers to monitor student performance.
- Monitors students who are involved in after school interventions and articulate their progress through ongoing communication and interaction with classroom teachers, and parents daily.
- Manages and supervises all ASP programs, acquisitions materials, supplies, and evaluates the program.
- Maintains attendance records and submits reports monthly.
- Completes program reports as necessary; assures the effective implementing and successful completion of program requirements.
- Maintains communication with all school /community collaborations and networks supporting the ASP daily.
- Develops and maintains positive and effective relationships with school district personnel, educators, school officials, and other individuals or organizations involved with the ASP.
- Attend/Lead mandatory staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Hours and Benefits
- Position is full time, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary according to site but will be between 11:00 am to 6:15 pm.
- (Including minimum school days). End time may vary based on circumstances that may arise.
- Position is paid on a bi-monthly basis on the 12th and 27th of each month.
- Position does provide any benefits such as a Simple IRA program is available.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
