Job Title: BHS Coordinator- Manteca High School
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 6:30am-8:30am, Wednesday 6:30-9:45am
Supervisor: Program Director
Job Summary
The primary role of the Before High School Program Coordinator is to create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students through facilitating quality programming. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to supervising high school age students, organizing and implementing engaging activities or games, academic assistance, and serving as a mentor to students. The BHS Coordinator must have the ability to establish authority through leadership, communication, and most importantly patience. Enthusiasm, dedication, and the ability connect with children are key qualities essential for staff in order to foster the social, emotional and academic growth of all students in program.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Promote a safe and positive classroom environment
- Actively supervise and ensure student safety at all times
- Attend all meetings and training's that the position requires.
- Give guidance and counsel to program/site staff when appropriate and keep all pertaining records.
- Assist with program events as needed.
- Provide an opportunity for the BHS students to participate in enriching activities without regard for high performance skill or ability.
- Ensures age-appropriate conversation among members and staff; promote good manners and encourage common courtesies among members and staff.
- Establish a student-centered program that considers the needs and interests of all students.
- Support the exploration of interests and the development of skills, mastery, and creativity.
- Support youth leadership development and create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging for youth.
- Promote community service, engagement.
- Maintains cleanliness in all program areas; assist with the setup and breakdown during program day to contribute to ongoing maintenance in an effort to keep the school or community site clean and orderly
- Serve as a positive adult role model for students in the program through appropriate dress, speech, attitude, and courtesy.

Required Credentials
- High School Diploma or GED
- Receive Department of Justice background clearance
- Negative TB within past 4 years
- Passing of the proficiency test or 48 college credits. The proficiency test will be scheduled and administered in the main office prior to the initial onboarding process
Preferred Credentials
- Experience and/or training in a closely related employment position preferred
- Bilingual a plus
- Experience and/or training in a closely related employment position preferred
- Knowledgeable in Geometry/Algebra 2/Trigonometry/ Pre-Calculus/Calculus is a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
