Key Accountabilities
Volunteers
- Schedule volunteers to greet every GKTW wish family at the Orlando International Airport and Sanford Orlando Airport.
- Ensure that every Airport volunteer receives a positive experience, leading them to make a personal commitment to the GKTW Mission and fulfilling the objective of the Airport operations.
- Train volunteers on airport greeting process and procedures.
- Recruit volunteers for Airport operation to ensure adequate coverage.
- Ensure that all qualified wish families receive appropriate assistance upon arrival and departure.
- Document and resolve all incidents occurring during the arrival process.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with on-site groups and companies at the Orlando International Airport and Sanford Airport.
- Ensure volunteers uphold the high standards of GKTW and make a positive impression on airport staff.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OUTSIDE NORMAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Able to walk the entire airport during each shift.
- Able to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Capable of standing for extended periods of time.
- Able to work a flexible schedule if needed and/or extended hours of work.
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Able to work independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Able to speak and write English clearly & articulately with a positive, professional & pleasant manner.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain multiple priorities and adapt quickly and easily to a changing environment.
- Capable of working with all types of individuals, including co-workers, volunteers, vendors, guests and leaders in a helpful manner.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering exceptional customer service.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Ability to operate a motorized vehicle, including battery-operated golf cart
- Valid FL driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must meet acceptable attendance and punctuality requirements, which are essential functions for the position.
- High School Diploma.
- 1 year of hospitality experience.
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
- Hospitality or volunteer coordination, preferred.
- 1 year of supervisory experience with either staff or volunteers, preferred.
