Position Description:
The Student Program Coordinator is one of the key positions within Give Back. In this role, the coordinator will work closely with both students and partners to help deliver Give Back’s services to youth in the local community.
Give Back is looking for a responsible, caring and organized person to help provide the Give Back coaching and programming to students in the Newark, DE area. This Coordinator will interact with students regularly but will also be expected to interact with our school partners, parents and other community organizations and businesses to help recruit students and to provide services and career development to these students.
This position will require the ability to do some local and regional travel to meet in person with students and partners. You will also need to have the flexibility to work outside of normal business hours as our students are usually in school during much of that time.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Program Delivery:
· The Coordinator will have primary responsibility for meeting with assigned students on a regular basis to include bi-weekly coaching sessions, in-person sessions, national on-line sessions, and local career development programming.
· Work with students to create and update their Student Action Plans (SAPs) and Career Action Plans (CAPs). Help those students to set and achieve goals that will help them meet their educational and career objectives.
· Assist students with admissions process for Give Back programs. This will include working with students, referring partners (schools & CBOs).
· Deliver the Give Back Curriculum to all assigned students as directed by the Chief of Program Operations, Director of Student Programming and the Curriculum Development Team.
· Identify barriers students are facing intervene as necessary to ensure students success and inform leadership of any major issues.
· Identify partners who can refer eligible students and work with those partners to support the student through the program through the enrollment process and while in the program.
· Schedule calls & meetings with students and adult stakeholders to provide academic coaching and monitor progress towards goals outlined in student action plans.
· Provide academic and program support through building rapport and maintaining an advocate/coaching relationship with assigned students.
· Work with students to ensure they are meeting the program requirements.
· Communicate with parents, guardians and other stakeholders to help them support their student’s success within the program.
· Manage relationships with a portfolio of community organizations, and high schools under the leadership of the Program Director
· Work with Regional Leadership to develop and execute recruitment activites to meet program goals. Manage student applications through the approval and enrollment process.
· Organize and attend in-person events with students throughout the year.
· Schedule and host Student info sessions for recruiting efforts
· Other duties as assigned or required to successfully implement the Give Back program(s) in their area.
Data Collection:
· Maintain records of all activities and communications with students in our Student Management System (Salesforce). This includes using our AI note taking tools in student coaching sessions and other conversations.
· Work with students and partner staff to ensure the collection of transcripts every marking period (High School) and semester (college) for all assigned students and enter data into Salesforce.
· Maintain basic schedule of programming and work activities for reporting to funding and oversight organizations.
· Keep track of student event attendance in Salesforce.
Administrative Support:
· Attend local, regional, and national (online) events that are required for students.
· Participate in staff training as assigned.
· Build and Maintain your schedule with supervisor approval in order to meet with students as available and participate in program activities. Maintain hours in time clock system.
· Other duties as assigned to support local and national program delivery.
Minimum Requirements – Program Specialist
· Minimum of an AA degree or two (2) years of comparable work experience.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance along with access to a vehicle that can be used for local travel.
· Must follow all published company policies regarding contact, communications and interactions with students and other stake holders.
· Knowledge of or experience working in or with schools strongly preferred.
· Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently and take initiative to support program needs.
· Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Salesforce.
· Clean background check (State child abuse/neglect check, Federal background check, public domain search, national criminal background check).
· Multi-lingual skills a plus.
· Some evening and weekend work will be required.
Benefits:
This is a full time position with salary and benefits. Employee will be required to keep their time and will be eligible for overtime if they work over 40 hours per week. This position is eligible for Give Back benefits. Employees are eligible to participate in our 401-K plan after 90 days of employment
