Givens Savannah is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our Savannah, GA operation. This role requires a strong background in specialized transportation to include packing and crating, heavy haul, out-of-gauge, oversized transportation, as well as warehouse storage and handling solutions. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with customer relationship and business development expertise, ensuring continued growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily business activity to include operations, administration, customer relations, business development, safety/compliance, and employee relations.
- Working with the Operations Manager, oversee warehouse handling, storage, packing/crating and out-of-gauge cargo operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, ensuring exceptional service and long-term partnerships.
- Identify new business opportunities and drive growth through strategic business development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Lead and mentor operational teams, ensuring safety, performance, and productivity.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize supply chain and logistics operations.
- Monitor budgets, expenses, and profitability, ensuring financial goals are met.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of proven experience in warehouse management as well as packing /crating, specialized heavy haul, out-of-gauge, oversized, and overweight transportation operations at the general manager level.
- Experience in managing packing and crating preferred.
- Demonstrates knowledge OSHA regulations and implements safety best practices to identify potential safety hazards.
- Experience in managing DOT and FMCSA regulations and transportation safety requirements.
- Experience in business development for integrated warehousing and transportation solutions, to include customer relationship management.
- Ability to lead a team and work in a fast-paced service sensitive logistics environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
