POSITION SUMMARY: The Food Expediter, or 'Expo,' ensures food orders are prepared and assembled quickly according to recipes, garnished, and served to our guests in a timely manner. The Food Expeditor (Expo) oversees communications between the line and food runners and implements policy and procedures on the line.
Position Responsibilities:
- Report for duty on time and use the time clock to check in/out; manage breaks in compliance with Nevada Labor Law.
- Maintain high hygiene and appearance standards (clean clothes, nails, hair; no heavy perfumes).
- Know and identify all menu items and their ingredients.
- Prepare and manage the station, ensuring stocked condiments, garnishes, cutlery, and tools.
- Oversee plate quality and presentation from kitchen to dining room.
- Ensure dishes are timed correctly for proper coursing.
- Act as liaison between Floor Manager/Servers and kitchen; address any issues promptly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of restaurant expo or related experience (preferred).
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize.
- Calm under pressure and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
- Neat, professional appearance and willingness to work flexible hours (nights/weekends).
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
- Knowledge of proper food handling and kitchen systems.
- High School diploma (or in progress) or GED preferred.
- Food Handler Certification (desired).
- Knowledge of Department of Health food service regulations.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in varying conditions
Work Environment:
- Moderate to loud noise, wet or slippery conditions
