Job Overview
The Mine Superintendent is based at our Middleton, TN site, and provides leadership and support to our Heavy Equipment Operators, Exploration Drillers, Mine Crew Chief and Mine Coordinator. Oversees hourly employees, ensure that everyone is set up for the day/week. Mine planning, software uploads, reviewing core quality and where they need to be in the mine, coordinating with maintenance and production, developing KPIs to ensure they are meeting production targets. Work with production to find out what their needs are, kiln schedules - which will dictate what they are running for the week. Work with AutoCAD, identify where they will be going in the future. This could be a growth opportunity for a senior mining engineer or mining supervisor
Duties
- Interact with government agencies during site visits and inspections
- Ensure ore is being mined according to the mine plan and high standards for ore control are maintained
- Coordinate with Corporate Mine Planning in the development of the site mine plan and exploration drilling strategies
- Conduct on-site drilling to evaluate ore for production
- Update mine maps and pit progression in AutoCaD or similar software while utilizing drone flights and GPS technology
- Perform routine inspection of all machinery, equipment, and the mine site
- Perform daily pre-shift briefings including safety and production topic
Skills
- Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or similar software
- Experience with Excel
- Experience with mobile equipment
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
